Nina Dobrev's hiatus from "The Vampire Diaries" is quickly coming to an end. The 24-year-old has spent the better part of her break filming the buddy comedy "Let's Be Cops," with funny guys Jake Johnson and Damon Wayans Jr. But during our recent visit to the Atlanta-based set, Nina told us that not only would she wrap production on the film today, but she would start the fifth season of her CW series the very next day. (Like, tomorrow, people!)
Of course, one of the biggest developments to come out of last season's gripping finale (SPOILER ALERT IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE EPISODE) was Katherine's transformation back into a human. So we just had to ask Nina how she thought her portrayal of the former bloodsucker would change in upcoming episodes.
"I don't know that Katherine will change very much," Nina said. "She is who she is at her core. She's a human now, no longer a vampire, but she still has the same personality and the same traits, and she'll still be as conniving and crazy and manipulative as she always was. But she won't have all the perks of being a vampire to help her."
That being said, we have to imagine that the dynamic between Katherine and her doppelganger will change somewhat, now that immortality is no longer on her side.
"The Vampire Diaries" returns to The CW on October 10.
