Fun news today about one of our Hollywood faves: After a handful of smallish supporting bits on the big screen, Nina Dobrev is finally stepping into a nice, meaty feature film role in—of all things— a cop comedy. Variety reports that the "Vampire Diaries" actress has accepted a part in the upcoming "Let's Be Cops," as the lady love interest of a character played by Damon Wayans, Jr.
According to the article, the film is a comedy about "two friends who impersonate cops for fun" (Wait, seriously? Who does that?), who run into trouble when they accidentally tangle with a real-life, honest-to-goodness mobster. And for Nina, who's been testing the cinematic waters with everything from a cameo in teen slasher/stalker flick "The Roommate" to a turn in "The Perks of Being a Wallflower," a screwball criminal comedy will be a fun addition to her resume. The film is slated for release sometime in 2014.
Are you psyched to see Nina in another big-screen role?
